May 6, 2012 in the GH

We had a great time discovering more about God yesterday in the GH, learning about Jonah and how God is a God of second chances and how we need to have compassion like He does!

I'm excited about this week as we wrap up our Psalm 139 series as we talk about Hannah.

Bible Point: God gives good gifts.
Bible Story: God gives Hannah a baby. (1 Samuel1:1-2:11)
Bible Verse: "You place your hand of blessing on my head." (Psalm 139:5)

Also, at Rev56 last night, it was off the hook! We were in our 2nd part of learning about WORSHIP... what it means, who we worship, when we do it, and how we do it. So last night we didn't worship in the traditional way... we had different stations that the kids rotated to, to worship in different ways in a distractionless environment! IT WAS AWESOME! They were able to lay down obstacles, distractions and bad habits at the alter, pray for family and friends and leaders in their lives, write a letter to God, just sit and be still, tell God how awesome He is, dig deep into the Word, evaluate who they were, who they are now and who God has made them to be. For one hour, these kids were focused on God and their relationship with Him! 4 salvations and many commitments to try hard this week to turn away from the things that keep us away from God and to turn towards Him. AMAZING!

If you have any 5th or 6th graders, they need to come out Sunday nights 7-8:30 and we are kicking off our new series this week "NOT A FAN"... talking about not just knowing about Jesus but really knowing Him and becoming a completely committed follower. It will be life-changing!

4/29 in the Greenhouse

We are in are Psalm 139 series right now and are going to wrap it up next week but this week we are focusing on:

Bible Story: Jonah tries to escape from God. (Jonah 1-3)
Bible Verse: "Even in darkness I cannot hide from you." (Psalm 139:12)

We will be telling the story of Jonah and how God gave him a second chance even though he gave excuses and messed up.

Each week we give your pre-K though 4th graders something to go home with. You know when they come home from school or church and you ask them what they did today or what they learned and they say, "I don't know..." or "Nothing.." well, our goal is for them to come home knowing one saying that will spark their memory to tell you more about what else they did and how they can apply it to their life :o)

This week, it's:

"Today I learned, God gives second chances and I should to."

Want to jump in?

Hanging out with kids is one of the most fun and rewarding things to do! If you are looking to get plugged in on a Sunday morning, you can help with check in/out or      provide breakfast for the volunteers. You can also serve in the PreK, K-2nd, 3-4th grade class or in the nurseries.

You can also serve with kids on the Special Events Childcare team on Sunday evenings from 6-8ish. This is a time to hang out with kids while they watch a movie and play games and you can serve as little as once a month or as much as each week!

If you want to come check it out with no strings attached, contact Pastor Tiffany. tiffany@freedom-church.org

After going through Discover Freedom one time (which happens on the first Sunday evening of each month), then you will begin shadowing followed up by an interview and application process, which includes a background check.

Meet the Children's Pastor

The Children’s Pastor at Freedom Church is Tiffany Koehler. She graduated from Johnson Bible College with a BA in Children’s Ministry. She and her husband, Andrew, started dating in high school and they married in February of 2008. They knew that they were to continue serving God together faithfully all the days of their lives. While serving in one place of ministry, they listened to God’s calling to pack up and move to Lebanon to be a part of Freedom Church in early 2009. They love and   support the vision and everything Freedom stands for and knew that they could make an impact on Boone County by living for the other person’s good. How exciting to be a part of a church plant.. to grow from being in a theater to a YMCA and to the first permanent facility has been a blast!

Tiffany knew since a young age that she was created on purpose for a purpose- She was made to be a     children’s pastor! She has a desire to lead and serve where she can see kids grow and discover who God is and who He created them to be. It’s fun being able to lead the kids in the Greenhouse, the pre-teens in REV56, and then serving with the teens at the Revolution. Tiffany enjoys raising up leaders by helping them   discover and live out their potential by inspiring to seek it every day. While leading one of the most exciting ministries there is, she gets to develop teams of people who are passionate about creating safe and fun      environments that lead kids to Jesus. We want to partner with parents to make Jesus irresistible to kids! We know that what we do matters… we’re making an eternal difference!

What will your kids experience in the GH?

The Greenhouse is a safe and fun place for kids to discover god!

The Greenhouse offers a safe and fun place where kids can discover God!

Through worship, teaching, and a variety of fun activities, children are exposed to God's Word and challenged to grow in their relationship with God. Each class is designed with these core values in mind:

·    Relevant Environments. This means that the environment is creative, safe, and eye catching to children and parents.

·    Engaging Presentation. This means that each of our different environments have different teaching style, different music, and different events that are designed to be relevant, fun, and engaging for each child.

·    Consistent Relationships. This means that each child will be exposed to a lot of the same teachers, small group leaders, and other children which will produce excitement about coming and comfort once they arrive.

·    Biblically Focused. This means that everything that we do will be focused around teaching children biblical truths and showing them how to live out those truths as they walk through life.

·    Family Minded. This means that we try to view everything that we do as an opportunity to team up with parents in order to help you raise your child with a strong spiritual foundation and a strong moral foundation as well.

·    User Friendly. This means we want your experience to be comfortable and easy for you to enjoy.
